The weather in Scotland can often be wet, cold etc – but sometimes there isn’t a word in English which can describe just how horrible it is.  This is why we have had to come up with our own words, and one of them is DREICH.    It is a particular combination of low light, low cloud, rain and cold – and the only word to describe it is DREICH!  We might say “what a dreich day” or if it is very dreich, we might say “It’s gey dreich”
